Tour de Indiana- Day 2

As we started off towards CHL, the heaviest rain of the day started pouring. It was a drive to enjoy and both me and Poramet were defintely having a good time with the nice green farms glistening in the rain. There was a railway track parallel to the road and when a train did go across it, it was a moment to be captured in a frame. Poramets camera was coming in handy with lots of other scenic views coming along the way.
The road-trip was a short but interesting one, the reason being that it was completely dynamic and we had to keep a sharp lookout of where we are going and that we dont miss out on the right intersections and go the wrong way. US-36 was the next road to take and we were looking out for a place called Fincastle after which the intersection was to come. Now, the map we had referred indicated Fincastle to be quite a big town. But it was quite the opposite with the place not being more than just a bunch of houses on either side of the road and most importantly the board saying 'Fincastle' ! We soon got the US-36 we wanted and sticking to it got us to the Lake. It was a state-owned recreation area and we had to pay $4.00 to get in. But it surely was worth each penny.
With an artificial beach, lots of docks with ships anchored and ofcourse some lovely greenery. The lake was one of the most beautiful ones I have seen and there was a peninsula that I wish I could take everyone to for a visit. It had one of the most scenic views of the lake with a dam to the left and the sunset right ahead. It was gorgeous ! Oh! I forgot to tell you that just as we entered the lake area, the rain had gone.. dont know where, and there was this nice bright sunshine making it really really beautiful out there. The air had got nice and cool with the rain and sunlight adding just the right amount of light to the atmosphere to make it a perfect place to be at the perfect time!
After roaming around the complete area inside and checking out all the stuff listed on the map we had taken at the entry point, we decided to get back to Indianapolis and plan where to go the next day. With Saturday and Sunday coming on, it was important to check out a good place to go with the right weather to be there. The drive back was nice too, a bit longer than what we expected but was quite scenic. The one place that stood out of all that came across was Dansville. It was this one cute town with these cute houses and buildings. Driving through Avon, for me was one of the most boring part of the drive with the traffic moving at a really slow pace. But all and all, it was a wonderful day. We had quite a few maps along with us and we decided to refer them to search the place to visit on the next days. After quite a lot of search... the decision was... drive down I-65 South and take a look at all the things that come across and we feel interesting. The next day also was going to see some Thunder Storms at the northern part of the state and so the decision to go South... Next days descriptions.... next blog....
